Our Services
St. Edmund's wants worship that relates to you, is relevant to your life and transforms you and your life. The whole church shares in offering worship which expresses the love of God, so everyone takes part in and receives Gods love. How we do this varies: people have different ways to express themselves and are moved to awe in faith by different experiences. See the calendar of when services are being held. If you are thinking about a baptism, marriage or funeral, read more here.

Play Church - a relaxed and informal time for you and your little children with play, songs and stories. Read more...

Morning Prayer - a short service, meditative and traditional with a psalm, Bible readings and time for shared prayer. Monday - Saturday at 9.00.

Parish Eucharist - this service, with Communion, hymns and youth activity, is the heart of our worship and Church life. There is a session for the J-Team, often split into older and younger children, and a play corner where little children are welcome to keep busy (and noisy) during the service. Every Sunday of the month, except the 3rd. Sunday.

Weekly Eucharist - the Communion with modern language, on Wednesday at 9.30 and Thursday at 6 p.m at St. Edmund's, and regularly during the month at the Ellen Badger Hospital and the Low Furlong Residential Home.

Worship @ 10 - an all-age, lively and informal service. It is a time of worship and learning with moments of fun and activity balanced by depth and stillness. Our growing all-age, all-ability band is a special bonus.

Quiet Prayer at 6 - a peaceful, informal service that uses candles and meditative music to create, as we say, quiet prayer! 6 p.m. on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Read a typical service . . .

Evensong - traditional and prescribed service with hymns, psalms, Bible readings and a sermon. 6 p.m. on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Special Services - through the year we have special services. Some, like the Pet Service in October, are a celebration, others, like Remembrance in November, are sad but proud. These are an important way that St. Edmund's is a gathering place for the community of Shipston. See more at Fun and Faith

Home Communion - Holy Communion is celebrated in the homes of those who are housebound and too ill to come to Church. These visits are for the sacrament but also are a welcome social event for those who can be very lonely. If you know of anyone who would appreciate receiving the sacraments at home, please phone Colin Beatty, 663644.
